Domain Manager Tutorial
Step One: Log in

To log in to the Domain Manager, use the Customer Login link at the top of any DomainsAreFree Web page.
Step Two: Domain Manager home page

The domain manager has a consistent design between all of its pages to make it easy to use. The home page gives you access to all of the other features covered in this tutorial. Simply click on the links to the left to progress.
Step Three: Update Contacts

In the Domain Manager, there are three forms of contact information you can add or update for your domain name.
- Administrative Contact - The Administrative Contact is the person who will "administer" the domain name. This will generally be the owner.
- Technical Contact - The Technical Contact is the person who will receive e-mails regarding the technical features of the domain. This person will usually be the owner, but may be a developer (if you have one) or whoever controls the technical aspects of your Web presence.
- Billing Contact - The Billing Contact will receive e-mails about domain renewal. This person will usually be the owner, but may be your accountant or book-keeper.
You can view all of the contact information on the same page by selecting View Contact Information. Alternatively, you can use our WHOIS lookup if you are unable to log into the domain manager.
Step Four: Update DNS Server Addresses

The DNS information for your domain name is very important. The DNS servers associated with your domain name control where e-mails and visitors to your domain name will go.
If you are using URL / Web forwarding or e-mail forwarding services from DomainsAreFree, you will not need to worry about this area.
If you are hosting your Web site with a company other than Globat.com or DomainsAreFree, you will need to fill out the two DNS boxes with the DNS servers specified by your Web hosting company. If you do not have these, your Web hosting company will be happy to supply you with them, or they may even be on their support pages.
Step Five: Upgrade to Hosting Account

Your Domain Manager gives you the option to upgrade to a full Web hosting package if you so wish.
