Are my registration details kept private?

The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names & Numbers (ICANN), the international governing body for domain names, requires every registrar to maintain a publicly accessible WHOIS database for all domain names registered. WHOIS records include the domain owners' personal contact information: name, phone number and mailing and e-mail addresses.

Domain Privacy service allows you to hide your personal information in order to protect you from receiving unwanted communications from spammers, solicitors and the general public.

Eligibility Details

• The following TLDs are eligible for domain privacy: .COM, .NET, .ORG, .BIZ, .INFO, .NAME, .CC, .TV.
• Domains must be registered through Globat with our registrar partner Tucows.
• Finding the registrar for your domain
• Transfering your domain to Globat

Adding Domain Privacy

You can add domain privacy when you register or renew a domain or at any time in between:

• Add privacy now on existing domains on your account.
• Add privacy when you renew your domain.
• Add privacy when you register a new domain.

Canceling Domain Privacy

You can cancel Domain Privacy at any time, but any unused portion of the service will not be refunded. When Domain Privacy is canceled, your personal contact information will display when a WHOIS query is done on your domain name.

Domain Privacy will renew automatically each year while your domain is active.
